Mad hatter tea party

 Este é um alfinete do Chapeleiro louco... e porquê? bem, porque é um presente de aniversário e vai ser dado tão tarde que é um presente de desaniversário. a nova dona adora chá.

conseguem ver que é uma chávena de chá cheia de chá vista de cima (até se vê a pega)? Usei linha dourada para se parecer à borda dourada nas chávenas de porcelana. ok... normalmente as chávenas são brancas e tentei fazer em branco mas não gostei do aspeto e por isso decidi usar o preto. a linha é a saqueta de chá. tem um coração verde pois a pessoa gosta de chá de menta... este alfinete pode ser usado como acessório de roupa ou cabelo.

This is a Mad hatter tea party pin... and why? well, it's a birthday present but it will be given so late that it's an unbirthday present. this new owner loves tea... 

can you see that it's a tea cup filled with tea seen from the top (it even has a handle)? I used golden thread in order to look like the gold rims on china cups. ok... usually the cups are white and I tried it in white but I didn't like the way it was looking so I decided to use black. the string is the tea bag still brewing...  it has a green heart as the person loves peppermint tea... the pin may be worn as a clothes or hair accessory.

Little crochet Totoros pin

Conheci Micheliny Verunschk enquanto blogava. Ela é uma escritora brasileira e tenho dois livros dela que ela gentilmente me ofereceu. Normalmente sigo-a no Facebook onde ela publica muito da sua escrita e sobre partes da sua vida... ela tem dois filhos adoráveis: Nina e Theo.

Como quero enviar-lhe um livro que adorei (e que ela manifestou curiosidade), I fiz em croché 2 pins Totoro para os seus miúdos que adoraram o filme como eu. Também fiz algo para a sua bela gata preta Frida MAS sobre isso vão ler muito em breve!

I met Micheliny Verunschk thanks to blogging. She is a Brazilian writer and I have got two books of her that she kindly gave me. I usually follow her on Facebook where she publishes a lot of her writings and about parts of her life... she has got two adorable children: Nina and Theo. 

As I want to send her a book I loved reading (and she was curious about it), I crocheted 2 Totoros pins for her kids as they loved the film like I did. I also crocheted something for her beautiful black cat Frida BUT about it you will read it very soon!

este porquinho gótico metaleiro é uma encomenda para prenda de aniversário e está ansioso para conhecer o seu dono... mas ele só faz anos em outubro... pobre porquinho...

dreamcatcher

caçadores de sonhos apanham pesadelos que desaparecem com as primeiras luzes do dia. os bons sonhos passam pelo centro. estes objetos são diferentes consoante sejam para uma criança ou um adulto. este caçador de sonhos é para um adulto, por isso não tem penas (são usadas para distrair a criança). Como os sonhos do adulto são mais fortes, a linha também tem que ser (por isso fiz em croché) e é vermelho como os originais. As missangas representam os pontos cardeais (pequenas) e a aranha que fez a teia (a grande). Não usei madeira para o círculo (por isso usei linha castanha) mas terminei com missangas em madeira para ter algo natural. Espero que sirva o seu propósito!

dreamcatchers catch nightmares that vanish with the first lights of the day. good dreams pass through the center. these objects are different whether it’s for a child or for an adult. this dreamcatcher is for an adult, that’s why it has no feathers (they are used to distract the child). As adult’s dreams are stronger, the thread must be too (that’s why I crocheted it) and it’s red like the original ones. The beads represent the cardinal points (small ones) and the spider that made the web (the bigger one). I didn’t use any wood for the circle (that’s why I used brown thread) but finished it with wooden beads to have something natural. I hope it will serve its purpose!

and another coin purse... this one was one of those projects that I started and stopped for a while (about 2 months) because I didn't know how to finish it... and suddenly it "spoke" to me... this is the final result... :)

e um outro porta-moedas... este foi um daqueles projetos que comecei e que parei durante algum tempo (cerca de 2 meses) porque não sabia como acabá-lo... e de repente "falou" comigo... este é o resultado final... :)

 

sweet soft pink

this coin purse is now owned by a very special friend! we met in high school many years ago (and when I mention many, it's really many... not just 5 or 6 or 10... got it?) and whenever I visit my parents, we get together for a cup of coffee... this coin purse was a prebirthday present (her birthday will be on April 30)... she showed me a similar one in the internet and I got the message... this time I got the message... sometimes I don't... sometimes I think I'm a bit dumb... but it's OK, I don't care that much... :D

the colour is so cute, isn't it? it looks like cotton candy...

este porta-moedas é agora de uma amiga muito especial! conhecemo-nos no liceu há muitos anos atrás (e quando me refiro a muitos anos, são mesmo muitos... não apenas 5 ou 6 ou 10... perceberam?) e sempre que visito os meus pais, juntamo-nos para beber um café... este porta-moedas foi um presente préaniversário (vai fazer anos a 30 de abril)... ela mostrou-me um semelhante na internet e eu percebi a mensagem... desta vez percebi... às vezes não percebo... às vezes acho que sou burrinha... mas não faz ma, não me preocupo muito com isso... :D

a cor é tão fofinha, não é? parece algodão doce...

and why?
because it's for an optometrist who has many cats and drives a green car and loves space (where no one can hear you laugh)... :)

oriental style door chime

and here is another door chime for an office. the person wanted one just like mine, pink and grey (and now I realise that it wasn't published here), and when I gave her the option to choose the colours, she stopped and didn't know which colours to combine the colours or even ask... I told her that I would make one exactly as mine, but I lied... yeah, sometimes I lie but the truth always comes out when the person opens the package...

and why is it red, ivory and black? they are the colours she usually wears, not always together but they are somehow, on her... the colour of her lipstick, the necklace or bracelet, or even her scarf... and no... I don't usually wear pink and grey... I just like both colours together...

e aqui está outro espanta-espíritos para um escritório. a pessoa queria um como o meu, rosa e cinza (e agora apercebo-me que não foi publicado aqui), e quando lhe dei a opção de escolher as cores, ela parou e ela não sabia que cores combinar ou mesmo pedir... eu disse-lhe que iria fazer um exatamente como o meu, mas eu menti... sim, às vezes minto mas a verdade vem sempre ao de cima (parece estranho assim escrito... se calhar nem existe esta expressão... kkk) quando a pessoa abre a embalagem...

e porque é que é vermelho, marfim e preto? são as cores que ela normalmente usa, nem sempre juntas mas estão lá presentes de qualquer forma... a cor do batom, o colar ou pulseira, ou mesmo no lenço... e não... não costumo usar cor-de-rosa e cinzento... apenas gosto de ver estas duas cores juntas...

I wanted to crochet something to my unborn niece and the mother-to-be saw this owl in Pinterest... the author is the blogger Down Grapevine Lane who used the pattern from the etsy shop Angelschest... 

My final project will look a bit different but there will not lack cuteness!!!

Halloween is early this year!

this coin purse lives with a person who loves Halloween (does it justify if I tell you that she's an English teacher? it does to me... :) I'm one too and I love it).

well, I was a bit unsure about what to do... I started quite a few projects but was never pleased with the result and in the meanwhile this "little" spider was making its web in my mind ... as much as I wanted to think of another idea, she was asking to be created because she was tired of living in my head... she wanted to learn more about she saw through my eyes... I must say that although I do not suffer from arachnophobia, I'm not a big fan of spiders ... but this is a fluffy and a friendly one! one must trust a spider with two hearts, right?

este portamoedas vive agora com uma pessoa que adora Halloween (será que se eu disser que é professora de Inglês, justifica? para mim, sim... :)  eu também sou e também gosto).

bem, estava bastante indecisa sobre o que fazer... iniciei bastantes projetos mas nunca me agradavam e entretanto esta "pequena" aranha foi fazendo a sua teia na minha mente... por muito que eu quisesse pensar noutra ideia, ela estava a pedir para ser criada pois já estava farta de viver na minha cabeça... queria andar pelo mundo e conhecer o que via pelos meus olhos... pronto, lá lhe fiz a vontade... devo dizer que, embora não sofra de aracnofobia, não sou muito fã de aranhas... mas esta é fofinha e simpática! devemos confiar numa aranha com dois corações, certo?

Futebol Clube do Porto pin

this is the other pin for my customer's vet... and again the importance of having a Facebook account. after checking it out, I decided to make a cat pin that has the colours of his favourite soccer team: blue and white, the colours of Futebol Clube do Porto... a blue cat with a white ball! :)

este é o outro pin para o veterinário da minha cliente... e de novo a importância de ter uma conta no Facebook. depois de verificar, decidi fazer um pin em forma de gato com as cores da sua equipa de futebol preferida: azul e branco, as cores do Futebol Clube do Porto... um gato azul com uma bola branca! :)

cat balloon

sometimes my clients want to give something special to a person but haven't got a precise idea of what I should make... so, I ask if that person has a Facebook account, and if yes, the profile helps a lot! well, the only condition was: it had to be cat shaped pins because the gifts would be for the 2 vets of my client's cats. so this post and the next one will be about pins with cats!
This vet lady had published the "Let it go! balloon" picture and it gave me the idea to make a "Cat balloon". :)

às vezes os meus clientes querem oferecer algo especial mas não têm uma ideia muito certa do que eu deveria fazer... por isso, eu pergunto se a pessoa tem uma conta de Facebook, e se sim, o perfil ajuda muito! bem, a única condição era: tinham que ser pins em forma de gato porque as ofertas seriam para os dois veterinários dos gatos da minha cliente. por isso esta publicação e a próxima será sobre pins com gatos!
Esta veterinária tinha publicado uma imagem com um balão e a frase "Let it go!" e isso deu-me a ideia de fazer o "Gato balão". :)

Gopher, the coin purse

this coin purse was also a Christmas present order, like the previous 2 purses.
it had to be a not very obvious Gopher from Sesame Street...
- the sewn pink nose has a heart shaped bead - to express the owner's love for this character;
- there is a crocheted arm and hand - so she can play with or hold it;
- when she opens the purse, she realises that it is Gopher's mouth...
this was a very fun project and I love this kind of challenges... :)

este porta-moedas também foi uma encomenda de prenda de Natal tal como os 2 anteriores.
tinha que ser um Guálter da Rua Sésamo não muito óbvio...
- o nariz cor de rosa aplicado tem uma missanga em forma de coração - para expressar o amor da dona por esta personagem;
- tem um braço e mão em crochet - para que ela possa brincar ou segurá-la;
- quando ela apre o porta moedas, ela  apercebe-se que é a boca do Guálter...
este foi um projeto muito divertido e adoro este tipo de desafios... :)

green as a magical forest

The order was a green coin purse and because the client gave me the freedom to choose the colours, I used this rich green that reminds me of the forests in fairy tales... I used a wooden button because... well... wood comes from trees... and many trees make a forest, right? ;)

A encomenda era um porta-moedas verde e porque a cliente me deu a liberdade de escolher as cores, usei este verde mais rico que me faz lembrar as florestas nos contos de fadas... usei um botão de madeira porque... bem... a madeira vem das árvores... e muitas árvores fazem uma floresta, certo? ;)

grey and pink coin purse

this coin purse was an order for a Christmas present, well, the order were 3 coin purses, that means that you're going to see two more. the colours were not of my choice, they were the client's but I always liked the combination of these two. and you? in order to give the pink heart bead some prominence, I  used the colour ecru... just like a cameo :)

este portamoedas foi uma encomenda para prenda de Natal, bem, a encomenda eram 3 portamoedas, o que quer dizer que irão ver mais dois. as cores não foram da minha escolha. foram da cliente mas sempre gostei da combinação destas duas... e vós? de forma a dar mais relevo à missanga cor de rosa em forma de coração, usei a cor cru... tal como um camafeu... :)
